Mana Marama is a 30 moon phase hauora program based around the Maramataka Māori beginning on the new moon of Whiro and ending on the last moon of Mutuwhenua. Mana Marama was created and will be guided by myself, Erica, and my sister Te Rina.

All of the workouts have been programmed by myself and designed so you can complete Mana Marama from the comfort and privacy of your own whare.

Each workout has been programmed in alignment with the different energy levels of the Maramataka Māori and are designed based on my own experience as a personal trainer in the fitness industry.

How sign up works:

Step 1: Sign up to Mana Marama to secure your spot in the program. 

Step 2: Once you've signed up, you will receive an email from us within 24 hours with instructions on how to download the app.

Step 3: On the 25th of July you will get access to the program in the app. This will give you time to explore the app and prepare yourself before we officially start Mana Marama on the 29th.

 FAQ:

When does the program start?

Mana Marama will begin on the new moon Whiro which is Friday July 29. Mana Marama isn't like any other fitness program so it's not a Monday to Friday set up with a rest day in between. It follows the Maramataka Māori and not the gregorian system. But don't worry! Not all days will be intense workouts, so you will have space to rest and recover.

When do sign ups close?

Sign ups close on Sunday July the 24th (Tangaroa Whāriki Kiokio o Te Rua o Takurua) at 6pm.

When do we get access to the program?

The program will be loaded into your app on Monday July the 25th (Ōtāne o Te Rua o Takurua) by 6pm.

What style of training is involved?

There are mixed styles of training involved such as; weighted, body weight, circuits, EMOM, HIIT, mobility and stretching. There is a resource section within the app that explains what each style of training is and how it works.

What do I need?

Technology:

For access to the app you will need a smartphone (for apple it requires iOS 11.0 or later) (for android it requires 5.0 and up).

You will also need zoom as Te Rina will be using this for her Maramataka kōrero.

Fitness:

Not all workouts require equipment but you will need the below to complete Mana Marama efficiently:

- A gym mat (optional)

- A set of dumbbells (or 2 sets if you can, a lighter set for upper body and a heavier set for lower body)

- A kettlebell

- A booty band

- Ankle weights

- A resistance band (I recommend a light resistance)

- Something between 4cm - 6cm high to stand on to incline your heels (eg. a barbell weight plate or a thick piece of wood)

- A medicine ball (optional)

- A gym bench OR a stable piece of furniture you can use as a gym bench for exercises such as hip thrusts and bench press
