Hands up if you've cooked Tempeh and didn't like the taste! Because, me too! Until I figured I would try and get a bit creative in the kitchen and magically came up with the best vegan tempeh recipe ever! Here is the recipe I use for one block of tempeh:
- 1/4 cup sugar free maple syrup
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp master foods All Purpose seasoning
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Mrs Rogers Naturals Butter Chicken seasoning (it's made up of a whole lot of vegan spices, how ironic to make the chicken taste good right smh)
Mix all the ingredients into a bowl.
Slice one block of tempeh into strips and lightly pan fry each side for 3-5 minutes.
Pour the mixture into the pan and cook the tempeh each side again for another 3-5 minutes.
Done. These taste delicious in a wrap with tomato, lettuce, tomato sauce and vegan mayo for a yummy quick lunchtime meal. Or you could mix it through some rice and veggies and make a yummy stir fry.
